Frequently Asked Questions
What does the CNSF Cédula A exam cover?
Under CUSF Disposition 32.7.1, Categoría A candidates take four pruebas: Aspectos generales, Riesgos individuales de seguros de personas, Riesgos individuales de seguros de daños, and Sistema y mercados financieros. Categoría A authorizes intermediating individual life, accident and health, auto, homeowner and small pleasure-craft insurance.
What score do I need to pass?
You must reach at least Nivel I (60%) in every prueba. A prueba passed at Nivel II (80% or more) stays accredited while your authorization is renewed on time; pruebas passed only at Nivel I must be taken again before the refrendo. Passed pruebas are recognized for up to four years.
How much does the exam cost in 2026?
At the CNSF, the 2026 rights are MXN 1,110 for the full exam or MXN 573 for a single prueba. The CEI application center charges MXN 1,340 for a full cédula exam in Mexico City and Guadalajara, with higher prices in other cities. Obtaining the cédula itself costs MXN 4,861 in 2026.
What is the difference between Cédula A and Cédula A1?
Categoría A1 covers only riesgos personales y familiares de seguros de personas (life, accident and health). Its exam has three of the four Categoría A pruebas, leaving out Riesgos individuales de seguros de daños, so this Cédula A practice also covers the A1 content.
Are these questions an official CNSF exam simulation?
No. The official exam is taken in Spanish on the CNSF exam system. These English-language multiple-choice questions are an independent study adaptation and not an official translation, question set or simulation of the exam.
