About the PJF Actuario Habilitation Exam
Independent practice for the Poder Judicial de la Federación's internal actuario habilitation exam by OpenExamPrep. Since the 2024 judicial reform, the Escuela Nacional de Formación Judicial, under the Órgano de Administración Judicial, runs the contest under the 2025 Ley de Carrera Judicial. It is open only to oficiales judiciales with six months' service: one two-hour exam in two parts, with 80 out of 100 to win a place on the actuarial lists. This bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation, not an official translation or format simulation. It covers the Carrera Judicial rules, amparo notifications and service under the national civil-family and criminal procedure codes, and it keeps the Spanish legal terms. Its topic split is our own study allocation, because no official weights are published.
Exam sponsor: Escuela Nacional de Formación Judicial — Órgano de Administración Judicial del PJF. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.
Assessment
The Escuela Nacional de Formación Judicial publishes the call and temario; oficiales judiciales register online over two days with their CURP, law degree and sworn statements (including family ties up to the fourth degree in the PJF). Admitted candidates sit one exam in two parts, the first on general and specific legal knowledge and the second on the actuario post's competencies and skills, in person or remotely, with up to two hours and a 15-minute tolerance to start. Only a PJF credential, INE card or passport is accepted as ID. The grade is out of 100; 80 or more wins, and winners join the Sistema de Listas in the actuarial category. Results may be challenged by recurso de reconsideración before the Escuela, whose decision is final.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can sit the PJF actuario exam?
Only oficiales judiciales: Article 25 of the Ley de Carrera Judicial limits internal actuario contests to them. The 2026 call required six months as oficial (continuous or not) and admitted former oficiales who left no more than six months before registering, besides the Article 18 requirements, including a law degree.
What is the exam like, and what score do I need?
It is one exam in two parts: legal knowledge, then the actuario post's competencies, using multiple-choice, hypothetical-case and practical-case questions. Candidates have up to two hours, and 80 out of 100 is needed to become a winner.
What happens after winning?
Winners join the Sistema de Listas de Acceso y Promoción in the actuarial category. Court heads fill actuario vacancies from the top ten percent of the list within thirty natural days; if they do not, the Órgano de Administración Judicial designates from the list (Article 28).
Is the exam available in English, and what does this bank cover?
No. The exam is held in Spanish. This bank is an independent English-language MCQ study adaptation, not an official translation or format simulation. It keeps the Spanish legal terms and reviews the career rules and notification law an actuario applies.
