About the Cambodia Category A Motorcycle Test Exam
The Cambodian Category A driving licence (ប័ណ្ណបើកបរប្រភេទ ក) is issued by MPWT. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Cambodian licence to ride a motorcycle?
Current MPWT Type A covers motorcycles over 125 cm³ or electric power over 11 kW, motorcycles with trailers, and tricycles. A Category B car licence does not authorise motorcycles over 125 cc. Under amended Article 8, a licence is not required for a two-wheeler below 125 cm³ or below 11 kW, but the rider must be at least 15 and carry identification.
What is Cambodia's motorcycle helmet and passenger rule?
Article 8(8) allows a motorcycle to load two adults and a child. The driver, the passenger, and a child aged three years or over must wear helmets. Tricycle and motorcycle-with-trailer drivers must also wear helmets.
How is the official Category A test structured?
MPWT states that the driving-licence exam has two stages: computerised theory, then practical steering. Candidates who fail theory cannot take the practical test. The official item count, time limit, and pass mark are not published on the MPWT service page.
Is this practice bank an official MPWT exam or translation?
No. It is independent English-language multiple-choice study by OpenExamPrep for Category A topics. It is not an official paper, not a riding-test simulation, and not a substitute for MPWT's Cambodia Driving Rules app.
