About the iTEP SLATE Core Exam
The iTEP SLATE Core (Secondary Level Assessment Test of English) is a 50-minute English-proficiency test from iTEP International designed for middle-school, secondary and boarding-school applicants. It assesses three skills entirely through four-option multiple-choice questions: Grammar (Structure), Listening and Reading. The Grammar section has 25 questions split between sentence completion and error identification; Listening has 14 questions across short conversations, a longer conversation and a lecture; and Reading has 12 questions across three passages of increasing length and difficulty.
