About the Patente C1 Exam
Italy's Patente Category C1 authorizes holders from age 18 to operate motor vehicles other than categories D1 or D with a maximum authorized mass (Massa Massima Autorizzata, MMA) exceeding 3,500 kg up to 7,500 kg, designed for carrying no more than 8 passengers in addition to the driver. Vehicles in this category may tow a light trailer not exceeding 750 kg MAM. The official theory examination is governed by MIT Circular 28825/2019 and consists of 20 computerized true/false items to be solved in 20 minutes, allowing at most 2 errors, followed by a mandatory practical test.
