About the Hungary KRESZ D Exam
The Hungary Category D KRESZ qualification for bus drivers is administered by Kozlekedesi Alkalmassagi es Vizsgakozpont (KAV). The current standard curriculum effective 1 October 2024 specifies one 25-question, 25-minute computer-based Közlekedési alapismeretek test worth 35 points, with 30 required. It integrates traffic rules, driving theory, and vehicle-operation knowledge. KAV separately publishes a Category D route for candidates without Category C; that route uses three 25-question theory subjects: K, Szerkezeti es uzemeltetesi ismeretek (Szu), and Munkavedelem, tuzvedelem, szallitas (M).
