About the DEMF Exam
The DEMF certifies family mediators who establish a third-party space, work within an ethical and interdisciplinary family framework, and communicate through professional partnerships and networks.
Exam sponsor: Regional DREETS examination juries and approved training institutions under the ministry responsible for social affairs. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.
Assessment
Three certification blocks; 490 theory hours (including mediation process, law, psychology, sociology, and dissertation methodology) and 105 practical hours, completed within three years.

Is the official credential called CNMF?
No. The current national credential verified in Légifrance and the RNCP is the Diplôme d'État de Médiateur Familial (DEMF). The candidate's proposed CNMF title was corrected to the official identity rather than rejected.
