About the Habilitation Électrique B1V/BS Exam
French electrical habilitation is an employer-issued authorization under Articles R.4544-9 to R.4544-11 and NF C 18-510. B1V is an electrical executant symbol for low-voltage work under a B2/B2V leader in reinforced vicinity; it is not a live-work or leadership title. BS covers only specified elementary, de-energized interventions on terminal circuits at no more than 400 V AC or 600 V DC, protected at no more than 32 A AC or 16 A DC, with conductor-size limits of 6 mm² copper or 10 mm² aluminium. BS is distinct from BE Manoeuvre. Since 1 October 2025, B1V work in reinforced vicinity requires the five-year occupational-physician attestation of absence of medical contraindications, while BS alone is not on that specific list.
