About the Frisørfagets Svendeprøve Exam
Frisørfagets Svendeprøve is Denmark's final journeyman assessment for the Frisør vocational specialization at Danish Qualifications Framework Level 4. The assessment remains active in 2026. BEK nr. 216 af 28/01/2026 applies to learners who begin or transfer to the revised programme from 1 August 2026; learners who began earlier remain under the transitional BEK nr. 268 af 11/03/2024 rules. After the required education and assessment are completed, the trade committee issues the svendebrev. Frisørfagets Svendeprøvekommission selects the vocational-school venue and composes each sitting from up to 9 disciplines. The current plan covers women's and men's cutting, coloration, structure/permanent treatment, blow-dry and other styling, long-hair dressing, technical cutting diagrams, and diagnostic sheets. The work is practical, may include oral explanation, and is graded by four skuemestre: two nominated by dofk and two by Dansk Frisør og Kosmetiker Forbund. The published assessment materials are in Danish. This preparation module is an English-language multiple-choice study adaptation of the craft theory, diagnostic judgment, safe procedures, and rubric criteria. It is not an official translation or official-format simulation and cannot replace hands-on salon practice or oral preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Danish Frisør Svendeprøve?
It is Denmark's final journeyman assessment for the Frisør vocational specialization at NQF Level 4. The applicable education order depends on when the learner began or transferred to the programme; successful completion leads to the svendebrev.
Who evaluates the svendeprøve?
The examination is assessed by four skuemestre appointed by Frisørfagets Svendeprøvekommission: two nominated by dofk and two by Dansk Frisør og Kosmetiker Forbund.
What is the passing standard for the Frisør Svendeprøve?
The unrounded average of the four skuemestre's grades must be at least 2.0 in every individual discipline on Denmark's 7-point grading scale.
What are klippetegninger and diagnosesedler?
Klippetegninger are technical haircut diagrams illustrating sectioning, projection angles (0°, 45°, 90°, 180°), and form lines. Diagnosesedler are structured documentation sheets where the apprentice records hair diagnosis, porosity, elasticity, chemical formulations, and development times.
Who pays the examination fee?
The apprentice does not pay an exam fee. The apprentice's training salon (lærested) pays the fee to Serviceerhvervenes Uddannelsessekretariat (SUS), and dofk pays this fee on behalf of its member salons.
What is 'Det kemiske arbejdsmiljø - frisør'?
It is the hairdressing trade's chemical-work-environment subject. Danish workplace guidance requires a chemical risk assessment and prioritizes substitution and technical controls before suitable personal protective equipment; product instructions and safety information determine the exact controls.
