1Practise calculations by type, not just by topic: build a one-page formula sheet covering stoichiometry (n = m/M, c = n/V), Kc/Massenwirkungsgesetz, pH/pOH, Ks/Kb and Henderson-Hasselbalch, and electrochemical amount/potential formulas — Abitur tasks reuse the same handful of relationships repeatedly.
2Always identify the reaction type before reaching for a formula: is it an equilibrium (Kc), a proton transfer (Säure-Base), an electron transfer (Redox), or an organic mechanism (Substitution/Addition/Eliminierung)? Misidentifying the reaction type is the most common source of wrong answers.
3For every organic reaction, ask which functional group is present and which Reaktionstyp it belongs to — Alkanole to Alkanale/Carbonsäuren via oxidation, alkenes via elektrophile Addition, esters via nukleophile Substitution (Additions-Eliminierung).
4Rehearse Le Chatelier's Prinzip on real industrial examples (Ammoniaksynthese, Kontaktverfahren, Veresterung) since Saxon tasks often ask you to weigh Ausbeute against Wirtschaftlichkeit and Nachhaltigkeit, not just predict a shift direction.
