About the Escuela PDI Exam
The Escuela de Investigaciones Policiales (ESCUPOL) admission process selects Aspirantes a Oficial Policial Profesional de Línea for the Policía de Investigaciones de Chile. It combines psychotechnical testing, competency and police interviews, physical evaluation, medical-dental and mental-health screening under Orden General N° 2.480, the Declaración del Historial Personal, PAES/PDT results and the NEM (20%), together with one institutionally administered Evaluación de Idioma Inglés for which the Departamento de Admisión publishes an official temario at CEFR A1 (MCER) level covering listening comprehension, reading comprehension and use of English. This 100-question bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation of that published scope. It is not an official translation, does not reproduce the paper's official length or section split, cannot rehearse the listening section, and is no substitute for the physical, psychotechnical, interview, medical or DHP stages.

Pronouns, genitive case, articles, verb to be, there is/are, present simple and continuous, past simple and continuous, future with will and going to, present perfect, modals, prepositions, comparatives and superlatives, and basic passive voice.
Lexicon & Core Vocabulary
Family, meals and drinks, professions and trades, household items, countries and nationalities, travel and transport, giving directions, parts of the body, and sports.
Reading Comprehension & Use of English

What qualification do graduates of ESCUPOL receive?
Cadets complete three years of residential study plus a fourth year of professional practice, graduating with the professional title of Investigador Policial and entering the Policía de Investigaciones de Chile as Detectives.
What are the age and educational eligibility requirements for PDI admission?
Applicants must be Chilean, single, no younger than 17 and no older than 21 at the date of entry to the school, and taking or holding 4º medio. Minimum barefoot height is 1,75 m for men and 1,60 m for women. A dispensa (special waiver) can be requested for the age and height requirements, and holders of a professional degree of at least four years or eight semesters — preferably Derecho, Ingeniería Informática, Contador Auditor, Psicología or Administración Pública — may be exempted from the age and higher-education-test requirements. You may apply a maximum of three times.
What is the format of the PDI Evaluación de Idioma Inglés?
The official temario describes an obligatory evaluation at CEFR A1 (MCER) level with three sections: comprensión auditiva (listening), comprensión lectora (reading) and uso del idioma (use of English). The current editions published on escuelapdi.cl do not state an item count or a duration; older circulating editions stated 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes and another stated 50, so verify the figure against the temario in your own admission pack rather than trusting a number found online.
Is a polygraph test administered during the PDI admission process?
No. The stage often described that way is the Declaración del Historial Personal (DHP), a documentary background declaration. The school's own terms and conditions state that during the DHP the applicant only submits plain photocopies of the requested documents. No official ESCUPOL source describes a polygraph.
How does this practice bank relate to the real English evaluation?
The admission process is conducted in Spanish and only the Evaluación de Idioma Inglés is an English-language paper. This bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation of the published A1 temario. It rehearses reading comprehension and use of English but cannot rehearse the listening section, does not reproduce the official item count or section split, and is not a substitute for any other admission stage.
