About the Belarus GAI Theory B Exam
The Belarus Category B driving theory examination is the official computerized knowledge test administered by the State Automobile Inspectorate (ГАИ МВД Республики Беларусь) for passenger-car driver licensing. Regulated under Presidential Decree No. 551 of 28 November 2005 (most recently amended by Decree No. 295 of 4 August 2025, in force from 1 September 2025) and the national traffic rules it approves (ПДД Республики Беларусь), Category B encompasses motor vehicles with a permissible maximum mass up to 3,500 kg and seating up to 8 passengers (excluding the driver). The exam evaluates mastery of general road regulations, priority rules, overtaking, speed limits, stopping and parking restrictions, child seat regulations, seasonal winter tyre mandates, emergency equipment, basic vehicle mechanics, first aid, and administrative penalties under the Code of Administrative Offences (КоАП РБ).
