About the FSMA Kredietbemiddeling Exam
The FSMA credit-intermediation knowledge exam (kredietbemiddeling / intermédiation en crédits) is the statutory professional-knowledge test for Belgian consumer-credit and mortgage-credit intermediaries, their PCP and VVD. It is not a private course quiz. Febelfin Academy, an FSMA-recognised exam provider, delivers three modules aligned with the Royal Decree of 26 October 2015 implementing Title 4, Chapter 4 of Book VII of the Wetboek van economisch recht / Code de droit économique. Module 1 (general principles) is mandatory for both consumer and mortgage activity. Module 2 covers consumentenkrediet and Module 3 hypothecair krediet; each is sat only when required by the candidate's credit activity. Each module is 20 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking and a 60% pass. This practice bank is a free English-language MCQ study adaptation of that knowledge — not an official translation and not a substitute for the Dutch, French or English sitting at Febelfin Academy.
Assessment
Each module is a separate 20-item MCQ with no negative marking. An in-person session lasts a maximum of 3 hours (about 30 minutes per module); online proctoring is listed as a maximum of 2 hours. All chosen modules must be taken on the same date. Official materials and sittings are available in Dutch, French and English. This bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation, not an official translation and not a single 100-question exam.
Time Limit
Maximum 3 hours for an in-person session (about 30 minutes per module). Online proctoring sessions are listed as maximum 2 hours.
Passing Score
60% per module (at least 12 of 20), with no guessing correction

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the official FSMA / Febelfin Academy exam?
No. OpenExamPrep publishes a free English-language multiple-choice study adaptation. The official knowledge exam is organised by Febelfin Academy as an FSMA-recognised provider and may be sat in Dutch, French or English, in person in Brussels or online with proctoring.
How many questions are on the official exam?
Each module is 20 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Sitting all three modules means 60 official items. Module 1 is mandatory; Modules 2 and 3 depend on whether you intermediate consumer credit and/or mortgage credit. Do not treat this site's 100 practice questions as the official length.
What is the pass mark?
You must score at least 60% on each module you sit (12 of 20). Passing Module 1 does not compensate for failing Module 2 or 3.
How much does the official exam cost?
Febelfin Academy's in-person distance package (syllabus, exercise platform and exam for the three-module bundle) is EUR 180 for members and BZB partners and EUR 200 for non-members, with a EUR 50 presential retake. The online-proctoring package is listed at EUR 300 members / EUR 320 non-members on the course header (the same page's itemised list still shows EUR 280 / EUR 300 / EUR 280 and a EUR 230 retake). Exam-only registration is EUR 120 per module via info@febelfin-academy.be. Confirm current tariffs on the Academy site before paying.
Who must sit which modules?
Module 1 (Algemene beginselen van de kredietbemiddeling) is common and mandatory for consumer-credit and mortgage-credit activity. Module 2 is for consumentenkrediet and Module 3 for hypothecair krediet, each optional according to the credits you offer. PCP and VVD of a type-2 ancillary agent (credits not limited to that agent's own goods or services) sit Modules 1 and 2.
What happens if I fail a module?
Register for a resit with the same email. A 15-day waiting period starts the day after the failed sitting. The certificate lists each module you have passed.
