Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CCNA vocabulary game free?
Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.
How does the CCNA vocabulary game work?
Each round shows a clue for one of 40 CCNA terms. Guess the term in six tries: green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the term but in another spot, and gray means it is not in the term. After the round, read the explanation and play the next term.
Where do the CCNA terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Pearson VUE (on behalf of Cisco) content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
What is the CCNA pass rate?
Cisco does not officially publish CCNA pass rates, so any specific percentage you see online is an unofficial estimate. The passing score is commonly cited near 825 out of 1000 on a scaled 0-1000 range, but Cisco does not publish the exact threshold and equates the cut score per exam form. With proper preparation (most candidates plan 200-300 study hours plus hands-on lab time), the CCNA is achievable for dedicated entry-level candidates.
How many questions are on the CCNA exam?
The CCNA 200-301 exam has approximately 100 questions; Cisco does not publish a fixed count and the exact number varies by exam form. Question types include multiple-choice, multiple-answer, drag-and-drop, and simulation/simlet items. You have 120 minutes to complete the exam, which costs $300 USD (Cisco U.S. list price) and is delivered by Pearson VUE. The passing score is commonly cited near 825 out of 1000, but Cisco does not publish the exact threshold.
