Every test taker begins with a 30-question College Readiness Classification test. A score below the CRC benchmark routes the student to a 48-question Diagnostic test. The ELAR suite also includes one constructed-response essay prompt.

How is college readiness determined for TSIA2 ELAR?

A student is college ready with a CRC score from 945 through 990 and an essay score of 5 through 8, or with a CRC below 945, Diagnostic Level 5 or 6, and an essay score of 5 through 8.

Is TSIA2 ELAR timed?

College Board describes TSIA2 as untimed. Testing centers may still set operating hours or appointment rules, so students should confirm local scheduling details.

Can I retake TSIA2 ELAR?

Yes. College Board states that students may retake a TSIA2 test at any time. Current THECB guidance also allows an eligible ELAR retest to cover only the CRC branch or only the essay when appropriate.
