Osteokinematics is gross bone motion (flexion, extension, etc.). Arthrokinematics is accessory joint surface motion (roll, glide, spin) used for movement analysis and manual therapy decisions.
Concave-Convex Rule
Convex-on-concave: roll and glide occur in opposite directions. Concave-on-convex: roll and glide occur in the same direction. Use this to choose joint mobilization direction.
Joint Mobilization Grades (Maitland)
