Two consequences follow directly, and both matter:
- 3000 is not "50% correct." The midpoint of the 1000–6000 reporting scale is 3500, not 3000, and the raw-to-scaled transformation is not linear. There is no published number of correct answers that guarantees a pass.
- Questions carry different weights. Because item weighting varies with criticality, answering half the items correctly may not be enough. Aim well above a bare pass rather than targeting a percentage.
Pacing
