Eligibility Core (Homoeopathy)

AIAPGET Homoeopathy is built for BHMS graduates, including holders of Graded BHMS where the Information Bulletin lists that pathway. The durable eligibility pillars — always confirm wording in the current Information Bulletin — are:

1. Degree: BHMS or Graded BHMS from an institution recognized under the applicable Homoeopathy council framework (CCH historically / NCH currently)
2. Internship: Completion of the one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before the date NTA specifies for that cycle
3. Registration: Provisional or permanent registration with the State Homoeopathy Council / Central Council as required for counselling and college joining
4. Citizenship: Indian citizens as the primary eligible cohort (plus any other categories the bulletin explicitly includes)
5. Category documents: Reserved-category, EWS, or PwBD claims need valid certificates in the formats counselling authorities demand

Age and attempts

As locked in the AIAPGET Homoeopathy framework used for 2026 planning, there is no upper age limit. Attempts are limited by the fact that the exam runs once per admission year and the score is used for that year’s counselling cycle. There is no “lifetime validity” like some professional licenses. A candidate who sat last year must reappear if seeking a fresh rank for the new cycle.

Internship timing — the most common eligibility trap

Many aspirants finish theory exams months before internship ends. If your internship completion date falls after the bulletin cutoff, you may be barred even if your BHMS coursework is done. Plan the application only after you can truthfully meet the internship date. Provisional joining rules at colleges also demand internship completion certificates at reporting — clearing the CBT does not waive that.

Scenario: Graded BHMS vs “bridge course myths”

A Graded BHMS holder reads a social-media claim that an extra national “conversion exam” is mandatory before AIAPGET. Unless the current NTA bulletin states such a requirement, do not invent one. Your job is to match degree title + recognition + internship + registration to the bulletin clauses, not to folklore. Keep affiliation/recognition letters ready if your college lived through the CCH→NCH transition.

Scenario: citizenship and category

An Indian citizen with a valid OBC-NCL certificate applies under OBC-NCL for fee and counselling. A classmate without Indian citizenship status as framed by the bulletin cannot “borrow” eligibility by paying the UR fee. Citizenship and category are separate gates; paying more money does not create eligibility the bulletin withholds.

Category claimed for fee must match certificates you will produce in counselling. Claiming OBC-NCL for a lower fee without a valid NCL certificate is a classic rejection risk at document verification.

Correction window discipline

When NTA opens a short correction window, prioritize:

• Name spelling vs Aadhaar / degree certificate
• Category and PwBD status
• Gender / third-gender coding if applicable
• Photograph and signature clarity
• Homoeopathy stream confirmation

Do not wait until admit-card day to notice a wrong category or blurred photo. CBT centres follow admit-card identity fields; counselling authorities later re-check the same identity against degree and council papers.

From Result to Seat: Two Counselling Tracks

AACCC (central / AIQ track)

The AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) conducts online counselling for seats under its published matrix. In typical cycles this includes:

• 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government colleges (structure as notified for that year)
• 100% seats of designated National Institutes and other centrally listed institutions as per AACCC brochure
• Seats at institutions such as BHU when listed under AACCC for that year

AACCC counselling is choice-filling + allotment rounds (often multiple rounds, including stray vacancy processes when notified). Registration on the AACCC portal is separate from NTA exam registration. Qualifying AIAPGET does not auto-enroll you in AACCC.

State counselling

State quota MD Homoeopathy seats are filled by state AYUSH / medical counselling authorities. Rules on domicile, service bonds, minority quotas, and private-college fees vary widely. Many candidates must:

1. Qualify AIAPGET
2. Register on AACCC for AIQ/national seats and/or
3. Register on their state portal for state seats

Missing a state registration deadline while waiting only on AACCC is a frequent seat loss.

Scenario: dual-track candidate

Priya wants both a national-institute AIQ option and a domicile state-government MD seat. She qualifies AIAPGET, registers on AACCC, and also completes state counselling registration before the state deadline. Her classmate Arjun registers only on AACCC, assumes “central counselling covers my state too,” and discovers state choices closed after Round 1 gossip. Dual intent requires dual registration.

Document Pack for Counselling & Reporting

Build a folder early (originals + scans):

• AIAPGET scorecard and admit card
• BHMS / Graded BHMS degree / provisional certificate and mark sheets
• Internship completion certificate with dates
• Council registration certificate (provisional or permanent as required)
• Category / EWS / PwBD certificates in the format the counselling brochure demands
• Photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, etc.)
• Transfer / migration / conduct certificates if the allotted college asks
• Bond / fee affidavits where state rules require them

Allotment vs admission

Seat allotment is a provisional computer result. Admission happens only after physical/online reporting, fee payment, and document verification. If your internship certificate date or category certificate fails verification, the allotment can be cancelled even with a strong AIAPGET rank. Registration gaps are equally lethal: colleges will not convert allotment into admission if council registration documents are missing when the brochure requires them at joining.

Practical Timeline Thinking

Exact dates move each year, but the logical sequence is stable:

1. Bulletin + online application (NTA)
2. Correction window (if any)
3. Admit card → CBT
4. Provisional answer key / challenges → final key
5. Result with percentiles and ranks
6. AACCC registration + choice filling; parallel state registration
7. Round-wise allotment and reporting
8. Further rounds / stray vacancy as notified

Study plans should peak before the CBT, then shift energy to choice strategy and document readiness. Do not stop after the exam and assume “I’ll figure counselling later” — AIQ choice order and college research take real time.

Eligibility & Counselling Decision Rules

• If internship end date is after the bulletin cutoff → do not rely on hope; read the exact clause
• If you need both AIQ and state options → dual registration
• If you are PwBD → confirm both exam scribe/compensatory rules (NTA) and seat reservation rules (AACCC/state)
• If you hold an older BHMS from a transition period (CCH → NCH) → keep recognition/affiliation proof ready
• If you hold Graded BHMS → map your documents to the Graded BHMS clauses rather than assuming exclusion or inventing extra hurdles

What AIAPGET does not decide alone

AIAPGET does not assign you a specialty automatically beyond Homoeopathy PG eligibility. MD subject allotment (e.g., Materia Medica, Organon, Repertory, Practice of Medicine, Pharmacy, Psychiatry, Paediatrics — as offered by colleges) happens through counselling choice lists and college seat matrices. Rank plus preference order decides specialty more than any single subject score on the CBT (the CBT itself is not sectionally scored for specialty).

• Decide category certificate readiness (especially OBC-NCL / EWS validity year)

• Bookmark NTA AIAPGET and AACCC portals separately
• Draft a college preference philosophy (government vs private, city, specialty, bond) before results day

Master content aggressively — but treat eligibility dates and counselling paperwork as scored parts of the campaign. Many high scorers lose months to avoidable document failures.
