  2. Know which imperfections are not permitted at any ISO 5817 level (notably cracks, lack of fusion, lack of penetration — subject to the standard's rules)
  3. Apply dimensional limits for shape imperfections correctly rather than inventing shop folklore
  4. Link the decision to the ITP, drawing and WPS, not only to "what the welder usually does"

Exam trap: Scoring ≥60% on technology papers while failing Application of Standards at 65% still fails the diploma route. Budget study time for using standards, not only for process physics.
