Phase 2

Phase 3
Practice fitting, REM (REUR/REAR/REIG/RESR), earmold impressions and acoustics, feedback management, and ANSI S3.22.
Phase 4
Review FDA red flags (8 conditions), OTC 2022 rule, HIPAA, OSHA hearing conservation, IHS Code of Ethics, state law, and aural rehabilitation; complete timed practice exams.
Can You Take the ILE Exam?
Check if you meet the basic eligibility requirements
- •Contact your state/provincial licensing agency for eligibility application requirements
- •Once deemed eligible, the agency notifies IHS, which emails the candidate the ILE Study Guide and a unique scheduling link within one business day
- •Pay $260 USD plus applicable taxes by credit/debit card to schedule the exam
- •Bring a valid, physical, unexpired photo ID matching the test-taker account name
- •Cancellations/reschedules permitted up to 48 hours prior; within 48 hours forfeits the fee
- •Maintain state license through periodic renewal and CE per jurisdiction requirements
