• Preference is not administrative distance by name, though the idea is similar—know Huawei default preference values for common route sources when the blueprint expects them.
• VLANIF is the SVI analogue; name and create it the Huawei way.
• Eth-Trunk covers static and LACP modes; know when each applies.
• AAA may mention HWTACACS alongside RADIUS—recognize both as Huawei exam vocabulary.
• Automation is Huawei-centric: iMaster NCE controller ideas, NETCONF over SSH with YANG models, telemetry concepts, and where Python or Ansible fit—not a deep software engineering exam, but not optional fluff either.

Use CCNA knowledge as conceptual scaffolding, then overwrite the CLI and product names with VRP materials.

Question-Type Tactics for 90 Minutes

With 60 questions in 90 minutes, average pace is 90 seconds. Practical rules:

• Flag and move after ~2 minutes on a single item; return if time remains.
• On multi-choice, evaluate every option as true/false independently; do not stop at the first plausible pair.
• On true/false, watch absolute words ("always", "never")—protocol exceptions are favorite traps.
• On drag-and-drop, read axis labels carefully (for example, control plane vs forwarding plane, or OSPF area types).
• Reserve the last 8–10 minutes for flagged items and a scan for unanswered questions.

Because scoring is scaled to 600/1000, raw perfection is unnecessary, but random guessing on an entire domain is dangerous. Eliminate wrong options first; educated guesses after elimination beat pure chance.

Registration and Exam-Day Logistics

1. Create or use your Huawei Talent / exam authorization account path as required for your region, then schedule through Pearson VUE (huawei exam catalog).
