Towing permissions under Category B depend on the Maximum Authorised Mass of both the towing vehicle and the trailer:

1. Light Trailer (Unbraked or Braked up to 750 kg MAM): A Category B licence ALWAYS permits towing a light trailer with a MAM not exceeding 750 kg, regardless of the towing vehicle's weight (even if the combined MAM reaches 4,250 kg).
2. Heavy Trailer (> 750 kg MAM): You may tow a trailer exceeding 750 kg MAM provided that the total combined MAM of the towing vehicle and the trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg.

Additional Trailer Endorsements: If the combination MAM exceeds 3,500 kg with a heavy trailer, drivers must obtain Code B/96 (combination up to 4,250 kg) or a full Category BE licence (trailer MAM up to 3,500 kg).
