The Singapore Police Force psychometric assessment screens officer applicants using objective multiple-choice aptitude sections — numerical, verbal/critical, and logical/abstract reasoning — plus a situational judgement test and a personality questionnaire. Sections are timed at roughly under a minute per item. The SPF does not publish a fixed question count, cut-off score, or pass rate. The assessment is one stage of selection alongside interviews, a medical examination, an IPPT or NAPFA physical fitness assessment, and security vetting. Singapore citizenship is required for all uniformed roles.

1A police division logged 240 incident reports in a month. If 25% were traffic-related, how many traffic reports were logged?
A.48
B.60
C.75
D.96
Explanation: 25% of 240 is 0.25 x 240 = 60. Percentages of a whole are found by multiplying the percentage (as a decimal) by the total.
2A patrol car travels 90 km in 1 hour 30 minutes at a constant speed. What is its average speed in km/h?
A.45 km/h
B.60 km/h
C.75 km/h
D.90 km/h
Explanation: Average speed = distance / time. 1 hour 30 minutes is 1.5 hours, so 90 / 1.5 = 60 km/h.
3The ratio of male to female officers in a unit is 5:3. If there are 40 officers in total, how many are female?
A.12
B.15
C.18
D.24
Explanation: The ratio 5:3 has 8 parts in total. Each part is 40 / 8 = 5 officers, so females (3 parts) = 3 x 5 = 15.
4An officer earns a basic monthly salary of $3,600. After a 5% increment, what is the new monthly salary?
A.$3,680
B.$3,780
C.$3,800
D.$3,960
Explanation: A 5% increase adds 0.05 x 3,600 = $180. The new salary is 3,600 + 180 = $3,780.
5A report has 8 pages and each page averages 320 words. Approximately how many words are in the report?
A.1,280
B.2,240
C.2,560
D.3,200
Explanation: Total words = pages x words per page = 8 x 320 = 2,560.
6In a survey of 500 residents, 60% felt safe in their neighbourhood. How many residents did NOT feel safe?
A.150
B.200
C.250
D.300
Explanation: If 60% felt safe, then 40% did not. 40% of 500 = 0.40 x 500 = 200.
7A duty roster has 4 shifts of 6 hours each. If overtime adds 25% more hours to the total, how many hours is the roster after overtime?
A.24 hours
B.28 hours
C.30 hours
D.32 hours
Explanation: The base total is 4 x 6 = 24 hours. Overtime adds 25% of 24 = 6 hours, giving 24 + 6 = 30 hours.
8Crime cases fell from 800 in 2024 to 680 in 2025. What was the percentage decrease?
A.12%
B.15%
C.17.6%
D.20%
Explanation: Decrease = 800 - 680 = 120. Percentage decrease = 120 / 800 x 100 = 15%.
9Four officers respond to calls taking 12, 15, 18 and 15 minutes. What is the mean response time?
A.13 minutes
B.14 minutes
C.15 minutes
D.16 minutes
Explanation: Mean = sum / count = (12 + 15 + 18 + 15) / 4 = 60 / 4 = 15 minutes.
10A community event budget of $12,000 allocates 3/8 to security. How much is allocated to security?
A.$3,000
B.$4,000
C.$4,500
D.$5,000
Explanation: 3/8 of 12,000 = (3 x 12,000) / 8 = 36,000 / 8 = $4,500.
