About the Luxembourg Civil Service Concours Exam
The examen-concours is the competitive entry route to Luxembourg's State civil service. Its first part is the Épreuve d'aptitude générale (EAG), a 2-hour computer-based battery run by the CGPO that measures aptitudes rather than theoretical knowledge. Its second part is a post-specific épreuve spéciale set by the recruiting administration. Since the 15 September 2026 reform, candidates take the EAG as part of an application to a specific post. The EAG is offered in French or German, and knowledge of Luxembourgish, French and German is checked at the end of selection.
