The Seleksi Kompetensi Dasar (SKD) is the computer-based first competency test for Indonesian civil servant (CPNS) applicants, and Sekolah Kedinasan use the same CAT BKN test. It combines national insight (TWK), general intelligence (TIU) and personal characteristics (TKP).

Exam sponsor: Badan Kepegawaian Negara (BKN) and Panitia Seleksi Nasional (Panselnas) under KemenPAN-RB. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.

Assessment

One 100-minute CAT BKN session. TWK (30 items) and TIU (35 items) score 5 per correct answer and 0 otherwise; TKP (45 items) awards 1 to 5 points for the chosen option and 0 for a blank. Maximum scores are TWK 150, TIU 175 and TKP 225, for 550 in total. Applicants must meet every subtest threshold, and CPNS results are then ranked for the SKB stage.

CPNS SKD: Suggested Study Strategy

1For TWK, learn the exact wording of core UUD 1945 articles such as Pasal 1, 18, 20, 23E, 24C, 28I, 30, 33, 36 and 37, and the five nilai dasar bela negara in UU No. 23 Tahun 2019.

No. For CPNS, applicants who meet every threshold are ranked, and at most three times the number of vacancies per position move on to the Seleksi Kompetensi Bidang (SKB).
