Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current qualification code for Hungarian personal and property guards?
The current vocational qualification code is 10323009 Személy- és vagyonőr under the Programkövetelmény system. It replaced the legacy OKJ qualification (32 861 01) following the 2020 vocational reform.
Is the vocational certificate sufficient to work as a security guard in Hungary?
No. The vocational certificate (képesítő bizonyítvány) is the prerequisite, but working as an active guard requires applying to the competent police headquarters (Rendőrség) for an official security guard identity card (személy- és vagyonőri igazolvány).
What defensive tools are private security guards permitted to carry?
Section 27(4) lists chemical spray, a rubber baton, a guard dog, and—when separately authorized under firearms law—a firearm. These means may be used only in necessary defense or necessity; the qualification does not itself grant blanket permission to carry or use a weapon.
How long may CCTV footage recorded by security guards be retained?
The former blanket three-working-day rule is not present in the current general provisions. The controller must set and disclose a lawful retention period under current data-protection requirements and apply any sector-specific statutory rule.
What is the language and format of this practice bank?
The official BM program and project materials are published in Hungarian, but the public materials reviewed do not state an exclusive delivery-language list. This English bank is an independent MCQ study adaptation, not an official translation or substitute for practical and oral performance.
