The USAC Arquitectura Prueba Específica is the faculty entrance examination for FARUSAC's Arquitectura and Diseño Gráfico degrees in Guatemala. USAC's Cuadro de Pruebas de Ingreso lists four tested areas — Razonamiento Abstracto, Aptitud Espacial, Razonamiento Verbal and Aptitud Numérica — and FARUSAC's own Guía de Aplicación publishes the topics under each without any weighting, item count or time limit. Results are reported as Satisfactorio or Insatisfactorio and stay valid for two years. The official test is sat in Spanish; this 100-question bank is an English-language MCQ study adaptation, not an official test or translation.

1An asymmetrical L-shaped 3D solid lies on a horizontal table. If the solid is rotated 90 degrees clockwise about the vertical z-axis and then tilted 90 degrees forward toward the viewer about the horizontal x-axis, how will its formerly top face be oriented?
2In technical orthographic projection, what is the geometric appearance of the top view (planta) of a regular right square pyramid whose apex is directly centered above its base?
3Consider the standard cross-shaped planar net (patrón de desarrollo) of a cube consisting of four aligned squares in a central column and two lateral square flaps. Which of the following conditions prevents the net from folding into a closed cube?
4An isometric block assembly is built on a 3x3 grid of unit cubes. Looking at the grid from above, the column heights of cubes stacked on each coordinate (x,y) are: Row 1: [3, 2, 1]; Row 2: [2, 2, 0]; Row 3: [1, 0, 0]. What is the total number of unit cubes in the assembly?
5A right square pyramid with a solid base is intersected by a flat cutting plane that is completely parallel to its base and passes halfway up its vertical height. What 2D geometric shape is formed by the cross-section (corte horizontal)?
6A 3D T-shaped rigid body consists of a horizontal beam centered on top of a vertical stem. If the object is viewed from the front, rotated 180 degrees around its vertical stem axis, and then rotated 90 degrees clockwise in the plane of the page, how does it appear to the viewer?
7In architectural drafting, how is an interior hollow opening or recessed surface that is concealed behind an opaque solid wall represented in an orthographic elevation (alzado)?
8Which 2D geometric net folds into a regular tetrahedron (a Platonic solid with four equal faces)?
9An architect is inspecting an isometric drawing of a stepped building block. The front view shows two steps rising from left to right. From which vantage point would an observer see the steps descending from left to right?
10A modern pavilion features a butterfly roof (cubierta en mariposa), where two roof planes slope downward toward a central interior valley gutter. What is the characteristic silhouette of this building's front elevation?
About the FARUSAC Específica Exam
The Prueba Específica is the faculty-level admission examination administered by the Facultad de Arquitectura (FARUSAC) of the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala for its undergraduate degrees in Arquitectura and Diseño Gráfico. Artículo 3 of the faculty's Normativo defines it as the instrument that measures the aptitudes, skills and abilities specifically required by the Facultad, and USAC's Cuadro de Pruebas de Ingreso lists four areas: abstract reasoning, spatial aptitude, verbal reasoning and numerical aptitude.
Exam sponsor: Facultad de Arquitectura, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (FARUSAC) — Unidad de Bienestar y Desarrollo Estudiantil. The requirements and fees below concern the certification or admission exam, separate from our free practice resources.
Assessment
Objective written aptitude battery across the four areas USAC lists for Arquitectura: Razonamiento Abstracto, Aptitud Espacial, Razonamiento Verbal and Aptitud Numérica. FARUSAC's Guía de Aplicación gives each area a second name for the virtual modality (Dibujo, Geometría, Cultura General y Redacción and Conocimiento Numérico) and publishes topic lists but no weighting.
Time Limit
Not published by FARUSAC.
Passing Score
Reported as Satisfactorio or Insatisfactorio. Under artículo 8 of the Normativo para Aplicación de la Prueba Específica, a candidate is graded satisfactory when they reach the recommended result for each of the abilities established by FARUSAC's authorities; no numeric pass mark is published.
Exam / Certification Fees
No fee published by FARUSAC for the Prueba Específica. USAC's Sistema de Ubicación y Nivelación states the Pruebas de Conocimientos Básicos carry no cost, and USAC's Sección de Orientación Vocacional states the Q70.00 Orientación Vocacional test is the only payment in the admission process.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the USAC Arquitectura (FARUSAC) Prueba Específica?
It is the faculty-level admission examination administered by the Facultad de Arquitectura (FARUSAC) of the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala for entry to its Arquitectura and Diseño Gráfico degrees. USAC's Cuadro de Pruebas de Ingreso lists four tested areas: Razonamiento Abstracto, Aptitud Espacial, Razonamiento Verbal and Aptitud Numérica.
Which Pruebas de Conocimientos Básicos must I pass first?
USAC's Cuadro de Pruebas de Ingreso for the Campus Central requires Arquitectura applicants to hold Satisfactorio results in two basic tests: Lenguaje and Matemática. Artículo 3 of FARUSAC's Normativo also requires you to have sat the Orientación Vocacional test before you count as an aspirante.
Why does the FARUSAC guide give each area two different names?
FARUSAC's Guía de Aplicación lists the same four areas under two sets of names depending on how the test is delivered. In the in-person modality they are Razonamiento Verbal, Razonamiento Abstracto, Aptitud Espacial and Aptitud Numérica; in the virtual modality the same areas are labelled Cultura General y Redacción, Dibujo, Geometría and Conocimiento Numérico.
How much does the FARUSAC Prueba Específica cost?
FARUSAC publishes no fee for the Prueba Específica. USAC's Sistema de Ubicación y Nivelación states that the Pruebas de Conocimientos Básicos carry no cost, and USAC's Sección de Orientación Vocacional states that the Q70.00 Orientación Vocacional test is the only payment required in the USAC admission process. Artículo 11 of FARUSAC's Normativo also requires that any preparatory course it coordinates be free of charge.
How is the Prueba Específica scored and reported?
Results are reported as Satisfactorio or Insatisfactorio and published on the FARUSAC portal. Artículo 8 of the Normativo states that a candidate is graded satisfactory when they reach the recommended result for each of the abilities established by the Facultad's authorities, and no numeric pass mark is published. Under artículo 41 del Reglamento del SUN, aptitude and spatial-relations instruments are prepared, validated and scored by the Sección de Orientación Vocacional of the División de Bienestar Estudiantil Universitario.
How long is a satisfactory result valid, and how many attempts are there?
A Prueba Específica result is valid for two years from its publication date under artículo 43 del Reglamento del SUN. The Calendario FARUSAC 2026 for 2027 entry publishes four opportunities between July and November, and artículo 6 of the Normativo permits only one assignment per test application.
How many questions are on the real exam and how long does it last?
FARUSAC does not publish the item count, the per-area weighting or the duration of the live examination. Its Guía de Aplicación lists the topics under each of the four areas without percentages. The 100 questions in this bank are an independent study tool covering all four areas; they do not indicate the official question count.
Is this practice question bank an official FARUSAC test?
No. The official USAC examination is sat in Spanish. This bank is an original English-language MCQ study adaptation developed by OpenExamPrep to help students work through the geometry, spatial visualization, abstract and drawing concepts, algebra and general-culture material that FARUSAC's own Guía de Aplicación lists. It preserves official terminology but is not an official test, an official translation, or a simulation of the exam's language environment.
