1What most clearly distinguishes the work of an Éducateur Technique Spécialisé (ETS) from ordinary production supervision?
A.The ETS removes production constraints so that workshop activity never has to meet a real quality standard
B.The ETS uses technical activity as an educational medium, adapting work so the person can develop competence, autonomy, participation, and vocational identity
C.The ETS evaluates only output speed because educational progress is assessed by the clinical team
D.The ETS teaches a trade but does not contribute to the person's individualized support project
Explanation: The profession integrates technical expertise and specialized education. Real work can support learning and social recognition, but production is organized around safety, rights, individual progression, and the person's project.
2Before introducing a new table-saw task in an adapted workshop, which action best connects the ETS's educational planning with the employer's DUERP process?
A.Observe the real task with the workers, identify hazards and variations in ability, prioritize collective controls and suitable adaptations, and feed the findings into the work-unit assessment before teaching begins
B.Write a teaching sequence first and leave risk assessment until a worker has demonstrated difficulty with the saw
C.Add a generic warning about sharp tools to the DUERP and rely on close supervision instead of examining the workstation
D.Treat a signed DUERP as proof that the task is safe for every learner without checking competence, guards, extraction, or emergency arrangements
Explanation: Risk assessment precedes exposure and must examine real work by work unit. The ETS can combine worker participation, technical analysis, collective prevention, individual accessibility, and staged learning; the DUERP records and supports action but does not replace the controls themselves.
3Which change is an example of adapting work to the worker through ergonomic design?
A.Increasing the production target so the worker learns to tolerate fatigue
B.Moving frequently used materials farther away to encourage greater physical effort
C.Adjusting work height, reach distance, tool grip, lighting, and task organization to the person's capacities and observed activity
D.Selecting one standard workstation because individual adjustments would make performance comparisons harder
Explanation: Ergonomics studies real activity and changes tools, layout, environment, or organization to reduce harmful constraints and support effective work. It does not treat avoidable fatigue as a training objective.
4What is the educational purpose of a properly framed external workplace immersion for a person supported by an ESAT?
A.To transfer responsibility for individualized support permanently to the host employer
B.To supply the host with unpaid labor without affecting the person's existing status
C.To prove readiness for ordinary employment from a single day of observed productivity
D.To test an informed vocational choice and skills in a real setting under a written framework covering objectives, safety, status, and follow-up
Explanation: An immersion can help the person discover a role, test fit, and identify supports or training needs. Its value depends on consent, explicit objectives, workplace safety, feedback, and coordination rather than a one-off productivity judgment.
5A worker repeatedly loses count while packing sets of ten identical parts. Which first adaptation best supports independent error control?
A.Provide a ten-place jig or visual matching board so completion can be checked without relying only on abstract counting
B.Have a staff member recount every package after the worker finishes, without changing the workstation
C.Reduce the worker's pay for each counting error to increase attention
D.Replace the task with an unrelated activity before asking how the worker currently approaches it
Explanation: A physical one-to-one matching aid makes the target visible and supports self-checking. The educator should observe how errors arise, trial the adaptation with the worker, and measure whether accuracy and autonomy improve.
6A worker says the required safety shoes cause pain because of a foot deformity. What is the most appropriate immediate response?
A.Allow ordinary shoes until the next annual review because comfort takes priority over the written safety rule
B.Stop exposure to the relevant hazard, investigate with occupational-health input, and obtain suitable protective footwear or redesign the task before resuming
C.Require the shoes to be worn despite pain because personal protective equipment cannot be individually adapted
D.Move the worker permanently without asking about vocational goals or testing accommodation
Explanation: The response must protect against both the workplace hazard and harm from unsuitable equipment. Temporary removal from exposure, professional assessment, adapted PPE, or task redesign address safety and participation together.
7A learner understands sanding and varnishing separately but often varnishes before sanding. Which pedagogical response targets the sequencing problem most directly?
A.Repeat the entire verbal instruction more loudly at the start of every shift
B.Ask a colleague to complete all sanding so the learner can specialize in varnishing
C.Observe the workflow with the learner, make the sequence visible, and add a self-check or physical cue before varnish becomes available
D.Accept the defect during training but remove the learner from all client work indefinitely
Explanation: The learner appears to need support with sequence and self-monitoring, not the isolated gestures. A visible sequence and well-designed checkpoint can prevent errors while preserving ownership of the whole task.
8How can an ETS combine pedagogical tolerance for error with a real client's quality requirements?
A.Remove quality checks from learning tasks so errors have no emotional consequence
B.Let defective products reach the client, then use complaints as feedback for the learner
C.Have staff silently correct every defect before dispatch so the learner experiences success
D.Create protected practice and self-check stages where errors are analyzed and corrected before the product reaches final acceptance
Explanation: A staged quality system lets errors become learning evidence without passing their consequences to the client. Self-checks, feedback, rework opportunities, and clear acceptance criteria preserve both pedagogy and authentic production.
9Which evidence gives the strongest basis for reviewing whether a person wants and is ready to move toward ordinary employment?
A.A co-analyzed record of technical performance, safety, stamina, transport, communication, support needs, motivation, and experience in relevant workplaces
B.The workshop's need to free a place for a new admission
C.A single supervisor's rating of production speed during the person's best week
D.The family's preference, even when it conflicts with the person's consistently expressed vocational goal
Explanation: A transition decision is multidimensional and belongs in the person's project. Evidence from authentic settings should be reviewed with the person, including strengths, preferences, accommodations, risks, and a support or return plan.
10Which approach most effectively supports self-determination when choosing a vocational pathway?
A.Limit information to the option the team believes is safest so the person is not confused
B.Offer accessible information, opportunities to try alternatives, support to weigh consequences, and a genuine choice that can be reviewed
C.Ask the person to choose immediately from a written list before any workplace experience
D.Treat the first preference expressed as permanently binding even when the person later asks to reconsider
Explanation: Supported decision-making expands real choice through accessible information, experience, reflection, and the possibility of revision. It avoids both paternalistic restriction and unsupported choice without meaningful information.

2Practise demonstrating technical instruction and defending professional writing; MCQs cannot assess those performances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply for DEETS training under the 2026 framework?

Applicants need the baccalauréat, an accepted level-4 qualification, or eligibility under the higher-education validation route in Education Code article D. 613-40. Admission combines the national application route where applicable with an interview intended to assess aptitude and motivation.

Does this bank reproduce the DEETS assessment?

No. It reviews concepts in English MCQ form. The official route depends on continuous assessment, technical and practical experience, professional writing, and oral defence, and national sources reviewed did not publish a selectable assessment-language list.
