New Brunswick's Grade 4 English Reading Assessment (Anglophone sector) is an online, selected-response provincial assessment administered April 24-30, 2026, with 60 minutes of testing time plus a 60-minute universal accommodation. Students read literary texts (50%) and informational texts (50%) and answer questions at three response levels: literal (20%), inferential/interpretive (60%) and personal/critical/evaluative (20%), based on the Atlantic Canada ELA Curriculum Outcomes - Grade 4 and the NB Provincial Reading Achievement Standards - End of Grade 4. Success means attaining Appropriate Achievement or above; there is no fee.
