About the ProServe Exam
ProServe is Alberta's mandatory responsible liquor service and sales program administered by AGLC. It trains workers who sell or serve liquor under covered licence types to understand duty of care, legal responsibilities, how alcohol affects the body and behaviour, how to recognize intoxication, how to refuse service to minors and intoxicated people, and how to respond to illegal or unsafe activity on licensed premises. Certification requires completing the online course and passing a 35-question closed-book exam at 80% within 45 minutes. The certificate is valid for five years from the completion date on the certification card.
