Frequently Asked Questions
Is the TCO vocabulary game free?
Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.
How does the TCO vocabulary game work?
Each round shows a clue for one of 20 TCO terms. Guess the term in six tries: green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the term but in another spot, and gray means it is not in the term. After the round, read the explanation and play the next term.
Where do the TCO terms come from?
OpenExamPrep researched each term from the Tanium content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.
What is Tanium's linear chain topology?
Tanium uses a unique linear chain topology where the Tanium Server communicates directly to a small number of endpoints (the chain leaders), which forward messages to their neighbors in a peer-to-peer chain. This enables massively scalable real-time querying of hundreds of thousands of endpoints without a hub-and-spoke bottleneck.
How do Tanium questions work?
Tanium questions are sensor-based queries that run in real time across all managed endpoints. A question like 'Get Computer Name from all machines' uses the Computer Name sensor and returns results within seconds. Questions can be filtered, combined (AND/OR), and saved for repeated use.
