Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ISO 27001 LI vocabulary game free?

Yes. The game is free to play with no sign-up. Signing in adds AI explanations for any term.

How do the ISO 27001 LI vocabulary games work?

There are 4 games built on 20 ISO 27001 LI terms. In Guess the Term, a clue describes one term and you have six tries to spell it, with green, yellow and gray letters showing how close you are. In Term Match, six terms appear as colored tiles; swap neighbors to line up three or more of the same term, and each match shows what the term means. In Term Pairs, twelve face-down cards hide six pairs of terms; flip two at a time to find each pair, and every pair you find shows what the term means. In Term Search, five terms hide in a grid of letters, reading across, down or diagonally; drag across a term to circle it, and each term you find shows what it means.

Where do the ISO 27001 LI terms come from?

OpenExamPrep researched each term from the PECB content outline and primary sources, listed under Sources on this page. The game is independent study material, not an official exam resource.

What is the PECB ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer exam format?

The multiple-choice version is an open-book exam with 80 questions to be completed in 3 hours, requiring 70% to pass. Questions are stand-alone or scenario-based (five questions per scenario), each with three options. You may use a hard copy of ISO/IEC 27001, the training course materials and your own course notes. The exam is taken online through the PECB Exams application with a remote invigilator, or on paper through the PECB partner that delivered the training.

What are the prerequisites for ISO 27001 Lead Implementer?

PECB does not enforce strict prerequisites to sit the exam. To obtain the full Lead Implementer certification, candidates need five years of professional experience, including two years of work experience in information security management, and a total of 300 hours of ISMS project activities. Foundational knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001 and information security principles is strongly recommended.
