About the AHPC Licensure Exam Exam
The Ghana Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Licensure Examination is the entry-to-practice assessment that allied health graduates must pass before they can register and practise independently in Ghana. The AHPC was established by the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 (Act 857) to regulate the training and practice of allied health professions, and it regulates more than two dozen professions including medical laboratory science, physiotherapy, dietetics, diagnostic and therapy radiography, optometry, occupational therapy and others. Candidates register online, pay an examination fee and sit a profession-specific multiple-choice paper. From October 2025 the examination is delivered as a computer-based test (CBT) at approved centres in several regions, with on-screen questions and same-day-capable marking. The examination assesses safe, ethical and competent practice, including professional regulation, patient safety, infection prevention, basic anatomy and physiology, core clinical skills and the Ghana health system.
