Open Enrollment Period

Wisconsin provides a 6-month open enrollment period for Medicare Supplement:

When It Begins

The 6-month period starts:

• First day of the month you are 65 or older AND
• Enrolled in Medicare Part B

Protections During Open Enrollment

• Guaranteed issue - Must be accepted regardless of health
• No pre-existing condition exclusions
• Standard rates - Cannot be charged more for health conditions
• Any plan available - Can choose either Wisconsin Medigap plan

Wisconsin Basic Plan Benefits

The Wisconsin Basic Plan covers:

• Medicare Part A coinsurance (hospital days 61-90 and 91-150)
• Part B coinsurance or copayment
• First 3 pints of blood
• Part A hospice coinsurance
• Skilled nursing facility coinsurance (days 21-100)
• Part A deductible (50% or 100% depending on rider)
• Part B deductible (optional rider)
• Part B excess charges (optional rider)
• Foreign travel emergency (optional rider)
