Pre-License Education

Testing Provider: Prometric

Utah exams are administered by Prometric (since January 1, 2020):

• Testing Options: In-person testing center or remote online proctored
• Same-Day Results: Pass/fail results provided immediately

Exam Tip: The exam includes both general insurance knowledge and Utah-specific law questions. Focus extra study time on Utah regulations and Chapter 31A of the Utah Code.

Utah requires electronic fingerprinting using "live scan" technology:

• Fingerprinting is done at the Prometric test center immediately after passing
• Uses "live scan" technology - digital capture, not ink
• Results submitted electronically to Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) and FBI
• Background check includes both state and federal checks
