Can You Take the ME RE Salesperson Exam?

- •Sales agent license is non-renewable — must upgrade to Associate Broker license after 2 years
- •Associate Broker requirements: 3 years active experience + 60 hours broker pre-license education
- •21 hours of CE every 2 years (includes 3-hr mandatory core course: 'Reasonable Care and Diligence Core Course', effective April 1, 2025)
- •Licenses expire October 31 of the renewal year
- •Must affiliate with a Designated Broker to activate license
- •No reciprocity agreements — all applicants must pass the full Maine exam
- •Real Property Transfer Tax: $2.20 per $500 (or fraction), split equally between buyer and seller
