Exam Day Requirements

What to Bring (In-Person):

• Two forms of valid ID (one with photo, one with signature)
• Government-issued: Driver's license, passport, military ID

Online Testing (OnVUE):

• Private, secure testing environment
• Webcam and microphone required
• Valid photo ID
• Compatible computer with reliable internet

Testing Rules:

• No cell phones or electronic devices
• No personal items at testing station
• Results provided immediately after completion

Fingerprinting Requirements

Required for all applicants:

Fingerprinting Process

1. Schedule appointment online with Fieldprint Hawaii
2. Enter code: HI-DCCA-INS to ensure prints go to Insurance Division
3. Complete fingerprinting at Fieldprint location
4. Results submitted electronically

Important: After submitting fingerprints, you have 60 days to submit your completed license application.

3. Submit application within 60 days of fingerprinting through NIPR
4. Pay license fee
5. Await approval - Background check review

Qualifications

To obtain a Hawaii insurance license, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Hawaii (for resident license)
• Pass the licensing examination with 70% or higher
• Complete fingerprinting through Fieldprint
• Submit completed application through NIPR
• Pay applicable fees
• Have no disqualifying criminal history

Exam Exemptions

You may be exempt from the exam if:

• Previously licensed in another state for same lines
• Currently licensed in another state, OR
• Apply within 90 days of cancellation of previous license
• Prior state issues a clearance
