About the Delaware L&H Exam

The Delaware Life & Health insurance examination is administered by Pearson VUE on behalf of the Delaware Department of Insurance. The exam tests your knowledge of:

Exam Section Structure

The Delaware exam consists of two distinct sections:

Section Passing Rules

• If you pass only ONE section, you only need to retake the failed section
• You must pass the failed section within 12 months of passing the first section
• If both sections are not passed within 12 months, the entire exam must be retaken

Pre-Licensing Education Requirements

Delaware does NOT require pre-licensing education. However, exam prep courses significantly improve pass rates.

Exam Tip: The Delaware Department of Insurance does not require a specific program of pre-licensing education or otherwise prescreen examination candidates. However, success rates are much higher for candidates who complete structured preparation.
