Module 2: Social Studies, Arts, and Humanities

This portion of the blueprint expects you to support young learners in:

  • geography, maps, and place
  • world, U.S., and Pennsylvania history
  • civics, government, and economics
  • dance, music, creative drama, and visual arts
  • developmentally appropriate arts integration

The exam is less interested in memorizing isolated trivia than in whether you can choose age-appropriate materials, experiences, and inquiry tasks.

Module 3: Mathematics, Science, and Health

Module 3 covers:

  • early mathematical reasoning, number sense, and operations
  • algebra, geometry, measurement, data, and problem solving
  • scientific inquiry and evidence
  • life science, ecology, physical science, earth and space science
  • health, safety, fitness, and motor development

PECT content questions often mix what children need to learn with how a teacher should help them learn it. A mathematically or scientifically correct answer is not always enough if the instructional choice is developmentally inappropriate for PreK-4 students.
