Core Course Requirements

For the 2024-2026 and 2026-2028 renewal cycles, the required Core course must be in Fair Housing.

Important: If a licensee takes only one Core course for renewal, it must be the Fair Housing course.

Inactive Status

A salesperson's license becomes inactive when:

  • Not affiliated with a broker
  • Voluntarily placed on inactive status
  • Broker terminates affiliation

To reactivate, the salesperson must affiliate with a broker and complete any outstanding CE requirements.

Address and Status Changes

Licensees must notify MREC of:

  • Change of business address
  • Change of mailing address
  • Change of legal name
  • Change of sponsoring broker (salespersons)

Changes are made through the MOPro online portal.

Broker Responsibilities

When a salesperson's employment terminates:

  • Broker must return license documents
  • Broker must notify MREC of termination
  • Salesperson license becomes inactive
  • Salesperson must affiliate with new broker to reactivate
