I passed the CFP exam on November 10, 2025! This was my second attempt - I failed the first one in November 2024. To prepare this time, I built two AI agents using Claude Code to mentor me throughout my study journey, and I actually felt the exam was not as hard this time. I finished both sessions (3 hours each) in about 2 hours each and felt confident about my answers.
I've open-sourced my Claude Code setup so you can use it for your own learning as well. Check out the public repository: CFP-Study on GitHub.
For my preparation, I used Kaplan for the question bank - I completed around 500 questions and found it harder than the real exam, which was great practice. The CFP official also has an app with around 500 questions. The difficulty is actually closer to the real CFP exam but slightly easier because doing calculations on a phone is more challenging.
